The area of Skek Kong (石崗) is a collection of residential villages North of Tai Mo Shan, close to the sub-districts of Kam Tin and Pat Heung, New Territories, Hong Kong. Shek Kong is nestled in between three country parks; Lam Tsuen Country Park, Tai Lam Country Park and Tai Mo Shan Country Park offering easy access to a variety of breathtaking nature hikes catering for all levels of ability. The Shek Kong Airfield is a military airbase, previously occupied by the British Royal Air Force. Since 1997 it has been used to house units for the People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLA). Today, the airbase is mainly used for training purposes although it is open to the public for use, however, private aircraft use is restricted to weekends. Getting from central Shek Kong to the Kam Sheung Road Station on the purple West rail line is a 10-minute taxi ride. Other notable places of interest in the area include Pat Heung Old Temple, Kadorrie farm and botanic garden (just outside of Shek Kong).
