Mong Kok (旺角) is one of Hong Kong's most hectic, densely populated and congested (but exciting) residential and shopping areas. Mong Kok, located in the Yau Tsim Mong District, provides a melting pot of both old and new with some more modern multi-story buildings that include shops and restaurants at the street level, and commercial or residential units in the levels above. With an abundance of food stalls and neon lights, it's also home to one of the city's famous markets - the ‘Ladies market’ where you are bound to grab a bargain. Notable places of interest include Yuen Po Street Bird Garden, Sneaker Street, Portland Street (one of Hong Kong's red-light districts), Langham Place, and the Mong Kok computer centre as well as numerous sports venues and educational institutions.
