Tin Hau (天后) is a residential area close to Causeway Bay and North Point on Hong Kong Island. The name 'Tin Hau' is known by many as the ‘Chinese Goddess of the Sea’. Despite Causeway Bay and Tin Hau being located so close to each other, Tin Hau is much more laid back and peaceful compared to the packed malls and the bustling food and shopping outlets found in Causeway Bay. However, the close proximity to major retail precincts and the short commute to Central (4 stops on the MTR) and other business districts like Quarry Bay makes Tin Hau an appealing choice for many professionals who have been known to pay a premium when leasing or buying properties there. It is also home to many local temples including Tin Hau Temple, which is one of a number of Tin Hau temples that can be found throughout Hong Kong city. Other notable attractions in the area include Queen's College, Victoria Park, Causeway Bay Sports Ground, Causeway Bay Market plus numerous boutique shops and bars, movie theatres and restaurants.
