Sai Kung (西貢市) is a delightful fishing town famous for its alfresco dining and seafood restaurants along the promenade, or otherwise known as ‘Seafood Street’. It has a vibrant harbour and the floating fish-market is bustling with many local fishermen selling their freshly caught fish from colourful buckets in their boats below. Aside from seafood, and other bars and cafes, the town of Sai Kung has a number of excellent hikes throughout the magnificent hills that surround the area. Although there is no direct MTR station, with the closest stations being Choi Hung to the West and Hang Hau to the South, the area offers a very pleasant change of pace compared to other parts of Hong Kong city.
