LOHAS Park (日出康城) is a largely residential area built near the remnants of several old landfills. The name LOHAS is an acronym that stands for "Lifestyle of health and sustainability". As of today, large parts of LOHAS Park are under construction as part of the Malibu project which, once completed, will make LOHAS Park one of the largest residential areas in New Territories. The area has been popular amongst residential real estate buyers who have been quick to snap up properties. More homes are poised to be sold to investors as they become available on the market. Included in the development will be large amounts of common spaces such as sustainably irrigated parks, a seafront promenade and covered walkways. Currently, commute times from LOHAS Park are about an hour to Central by MTR, and these will improve in due course as the frequency of trains is set to increase.
